I started collecting things for Harry’s nursery before we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. I already knew that this time, even if we were having another boy, I wanted a nursery with a much more neutral feel than Oliver’s classic boy nursery.
I found myself mostly drawn towards white furniture, beige tones and a bit of shabby chic (which is hopefully not too girly for a baby boy… yet!).
Completely by accident, while on my spending spree in Wilkinsons, I ended up with a bit of an orange and green theme going as they had so many cute accessories in one of their home ranges that time. It also went really well with another (kids) range of theirs which I’d chosen to buy a few bits from – Elliot and Friends. Harry has the pendant shade and the elephant pyjama case (pictured on the window sill). I also have my eye on a few more bits which I may purchase in the near future!
You probably recognise the rocking chair from Oliver’s old nursery – it had a makeover courtesy of my fabulous sister in law and is now sporting a clean white finish to match the rest of Harry’s furniture.
I found this really great storage chest/seat in Ikea for Harry’s toys – his room is so small, it’s great when things have more than one use! The lid is padded and the covers are washable (before you go thinking that I’m mad for having something made of white fabric in a child’s room!)
I really love how the whole room came together in the end… what do you think?
