Hello strangers! So it’s safe to say that my blogging has been sporadic (at best) and non existent (at worst). I’m pleased that I’ve at least managed to keep up with my #thesiblingsproject posts but I have so many ideas for my blog (including a new blog project which seems ridiculous in hindsight when I can barely keep up with this one) and so much to tell you all but… I. Just. Don’t. Have. Time.
All you mothers with multiple kids including toddlers and babies and school runs who still find time to blog, I am seriously impressed by you. Since my second little bundle of cuteness came along in the form of Harry, looking after him and a demanding three year old (admittedly I also have a husband who works a 50+ hour week including some Saturdays so it feels like I’m flying solo much of the time at the moment) seems to occupy most of my time. Add to that a two hour round trip three days a week to take Oliver to a nursery that we no longer live that close to (but which irritatingly would take me 15 minutes to get to if I could drive… yes I know… I know…) and a recent house move into a house that is… well, a project. In all seriousness it’s not really that bad at all but all this stuff combined, on top of just the daily running of a house (HOW much washing do babies/toddlers create?? I swear it breeds in the basket!) and increasingly I’m finding that I don’t choose to spend my spare few seconds blogging. Mainly because I know it would come out moaning and complain-y like this post has!
We’ve got a lot happening in our lives at the moment – as I’ve already mentioned a couple of times, we’ve purchased our first house and we were lucky enough to be able to get a ‘forever’ house in our budget so it’s safe to say that I don’t plan on moving
ever again at least for the next twenty/thirty years. Unless something seriously unforeseen happens, my boys will definitely grow up in this house and that makes me happy, when I’ve moved so many times in my life up until now. I can finally start properly creating a home…. let the obsessive Pinterest raiding begin!
I have created a new blog to follow progress at our house – Our Four Walls – but there’s not a whole lot going on over there at the moment (as in, it only has one post and I haven’t even finished the theme!) However, if you’re really into this stuff like I am and need a bit of a fix, please do check out our Pinterest boards and Instagram as I am keeping mini track of progress using them until I get my blogging butt back into gear.
Other topics I need to cover (but am fast running out of time!) are Oliver starting a new preschool from March, some updates on both of the boys (although thankfully my Siblings posts mean I’m not as behind as I could be on that!) and so much other random ‘brain junk’ like my future career plans (or lack thereof) and the dreaded D word…. DRIVING. We’ve moved to a slightly more rural location and while there are still buses (and I still have legs!), it is significantly harder for me to get around now without a car and it’s sort of starting to affect my mood a little bit feeling so isolated (we’re not really but compared to what I’m used to) which is probably another reason my blogging has taken a bit of a nosedive – I need to be in a happy, motivated sort of mood to do a lot of things in life and I haven’t been so much recently.
Wow so this turned into a bit of a ramble… at least y’all know where I’m at now! Stay tuned for my Siblings post in a few days!
