My favourite blogs to read are home styling and interior design blogs. I love the beautiful photography, the gorgeous ideas people have for their homes that I would never have thought of in a million years and how everything always looks so perfect (although I’m sure that the ‘lived in’ reality isn’t quite so put together!) I find all these blogs so inspiring when looking for ways to improve our house.

You might remember that last year I started another blog for our (then) newly purchased house in order to blog about our journey into making it our home. I know, what was I thinking starting up another blog when I barely write in the one I have? I am still keen to keep to two separate though, at least for now, but I definitely have some major catching up to do over at Our Four Walls! The projects have definitely been happening, it’s just the blogging that hasn’t! I think you’d hardly recognise the house now from that sad, neglected little bedsit it had become before we moved in.

The big expensive plans that we love to talk about over a glass of wine once the kiddies are asleep will have to wait for some time yet but it’s amazing how much we’ve done to improve the house that didn’t involve ripping out the kitchen and bathroom – who knew??? (Although I cannot WAIT for the day that I get to do both of those things)

It’s easy to get distracted by all the things that we haven’t done yet that I wish we could but I had an eye opening moment a couple of weeks ago – Oliver’s lovely godmother took care of him for a couple of days over half term and she posted a picture on Instagram of a film they were watching. As I was scrolling down my feed, this beautiful living room caught my eye and it took me a few seconds to realise that it was actually mine!

So I guess we’ve made more improvements than I realised… Now I’ll just have to catch up with them over at the other blog so you can all judge for yourselves!

About Bells

Hi my name is Bells... mummy blogger extraordinaire... or not. I mostly blog about my family life, with a bit of fashion, beauty and baking thrown in. Oh and I love pink. So yeah, I'm pretty much just your typical teenage girl.... except I'm in my twenties. Doh.
