Hi there! Well after a brief hiatus of…. well about a month…. the hubby and I have made a decision. We’re back on the TTC wagon!! But I’m getting ahead of myself, I’ll start at the beginning.
I’m Bells and I blog over at Bells’ little one. I joined the Emma’s Diary team as a pregnancy blogger in 2011. However there is a twist in this tale. By the time I actually came to write my first post…. my little baby boy had already been born, six weeks prematurely! So I became a new mummy blogger instead. You can read all those posts here. However Oliver is now nearly 15 months old and my Emma’s Diary blogging journey with him is over (although I’m sure I’ll still manage to sneak him in occasionally!) so now I’m looking forward to restarting my journey all over again, this time right from the very beginning!
So…. how did we come to this decision, I hear you ask? Especially as those of you who know me personally will know that I’ve been banging on for the last few months about ‘next summer’ being the time. Well, I’ll answer that simply by saying – you are looking at the couple who intended to wait a year after their wedding before attempting to have a child and ended up waiting two months. We have no willpower 🙂
I finished my packet of contraceptive pills seven weeks ago. We came to the decision then that I would not be starting another packet….. eeeeeep!! So (men and the squeamish look away!) I went through my last ‘pill induced’ period seven weeks ago and my first natural period arrived right on schedule four weeks later (well one day late). I’ve installed my little period tracker app on my phone that I used last time…. this all feels like coming home again haha! I just like to know how my natural cycles are doing as I’ve had so few in my life, I don’t really care about the fertile window stuff…. yet 😉
If I follow suit with my last two pregnancies (an early miscarriage and Oliver), I would fall pregnant after my first natural period. In other words, the cycle after this one. However there was no toddler to interrupt the process either of those times 😉 and of course we may not be so lucky again. If there’s one thing I do know, it’s that you should never take anything for granted in this game. So with that said….. game on!!
