The one with (The big O-N-E)

With only four days to go until my baby’s first birthday, I’ve been finding myself even more broody than usual (and that’s already pretty broody!) I’m still not planning on joining the ranks of the TTC bloggers just yet but with every passing day Oliver gets further and further from being a baby and moves towards *gulp* toddlerhood. Where did my tiny, preemie, 5lb 2oz squishy little bundle of baby go? For the answer…. see below.

This past year has been so amazing, I’m so pleased now that I made the decision to stop working for the time being. My maternity leave officially ends tomorrow (voluntary redundancy money, woohoo!) and the idea of leaving him now is just horrible. I’m very lucky 🙂

So what do we have planned for Oliver’s big birthday? Somehow or another, he’s ended up with three parties planned (spoilt only child!)… mainly due to my family being located all around the country but I’ll cover the main one here – the babies party 🙂

This one relies pretty heavily (although not completely) on the weather being nice which may have been rather silly of me, given that we live in rainy England. Basically I’ve invited about six of Oliver’s baby friends over to our house (and their mums, dads and siblings) and what I’m hoping to do is set up all of Oliver’s toys in the garden, plus a few borrowed ones… and basically leave them to it 😉 Of course I imagine it won’t quite pan out that way but I live in hope! I’m also planning to set up the patio with some baby finger foods and grown up food as well. I got the cutest first birthday disposable tableware with turtles on… I got rather over excited about them actually. I know he won’t remember any of this but I will so I can’t wait for next weekend!

What did everyone do for their little one’s first birthdays?
